Western Port Reds going solid
The snapper have really been starting to make the reports over the past week or so, with Western Port the place to really be trying your luck. The whole port has provided some snapper action, with plenty of fish running along the North arm and into the top part of the port.

Customers Ken and Chris fished out in Western Port off over the weekend and scored a nice snapper of around 6kg. The boys were fishing out from Silverleaves and picked up the snapper during the last of the run out tide. The successful bait was freshly caught couta head.
Customer Vlasi caught a few school sized snapper recently in Western Port. Vlasi fished the buoy 14 area using fresh salmon and landed 3 snapper all around the same size. Salmon chunks were the most effectively presented baits.

Customer Izzy has been hard at it in search of a big Western Port snapper and during the week she landed not one but two monsters. Going back to back two nights in a row she managed a fish of 87cm while fishing with friends Aaron and Brett from Reedy’s Rigz, and then topped it with a fish measuring 93cm the following night while fishing with staff member Dylan. Both fish fell to calamari rings pinned on twin snelled Reedy’s 187 suicide style hooks. Both snapper came from the North arm and were caught during the later stage of the tides.

Customer Colin has also found some nice snapper fishing the North arm of Western Port. Colin fished over the weekend and landed a nice brace of snapper around the inner Lysaughts area, with all the bites coming around the top of the tide, and on both freshly caught couta and squid.
