The whiting reports have started picking up in both bays for anglers out chasing them. If you’re fishing Port Phillip the Indented Head region has been a standout, with some fish also being caught down along Portsea and Sorrento.  In Westernport, the mid reaches around Tortoise Head and Tankerton have been providing fish.

Customers Izzy and Aaron fished out on the whiting during the week. Slightly rougher conditions fired the fish up a bit with a bag of nice fish being caught around Tankerton. The most effective baits were pipi and squid strips fished on Reedy’s tinganoster flasher rigs.

Customer John has had a couple of sessions on the whiting out in the Port over the past few weeks, and hasn’t been disappointed. John has been fishing the middle reaches of the port around Hastings and has found a few banks in around 2.5m of water have been best for him.
