Wonderful Whiting
The whiting have been going great out in Western Port. The warm weather has really had the fish going well all over the place, with virtually any section of the port producing these tasty fish.

Staff member Don fished with mate Sam amongst some other forms of fishing and work, and the boys managed a nice bag of fish. Fishing around Blind Bight in 4m of water, Don and Sam bagged fish to around 41cm. Squid strips and pipi were the most effective baits.
Customer Nathan fished out in the port over the weekend. Fishing out from Stony Point, Nathan caught a nice bag of KGW amongst a mixture of other species. The standout baits were pipi and mussel, with the better areas around Tortoise Head in around 4m of water.

Customer Jake took daughters Charli and Bella out whiting fishing around the middle spit recently where they had a ball. The girls had fun catching fish during the run out tide, with pipi, squid and mussel all doing the damage on the fish.
Customer Chris caught some nice whiting last week fishing out around the middle spit also. Chris fished the southern end of the spit, and found the run out tide the most productive time. Baits of pipi and pilchard cocktails were also the most effective on all the fish.
