There has been a wild run of giant tuna running across the state from offshore locally through to Portland. The numbers of big tuna have been insane, with many anglers going out and having their first solid tuna weigh 100kg or so.

Customer Steve has had some luck on the tuna fishing out from Barwon. Steve fished recently with mates Simon and Luke and landed a nice fish of around 95kg.

Customer Vik fished out from Portland recently and has landed some solid bluefin fishing with his father. While the bite on the barrels has slowed off over the last week from the area, hopefully another run of fish will come through again and push East towards Melbourne.

There has been an incredible run of barrel tuna caught locally. Fishing offshore from Port Phillip or Westernport has seen anglers land fish to 157kg. Customer Ryan came into the store last Friday for a new tuna outfit and some lure selections and the next day he has a barrel on the deck of the boat! Ryan and crew did well landing the 135kg fish on the ‘King Don’ colour fishing out from Gunnamatta.
