Tuna madness
There’s some crazy tuna fishing happening just offshore from both bays at the moment. Launching from either Port Phillip or Westernport will see you amongst the fish, with areas around Barwon to Torquay producing. If you’re heading more Eastwards, the back of Phillip Island through to Inverloch has also been red hot.

Customer Hieng fished with mates out from Kilcunda over the weekend where they found good numbers of tuna. Hieng and the boys recently picked up some heavy spin outfits and converted over to fishing poppers amongst the schools of fish. Maria Pop Queens and Upekari diving poppers were both super effective when cast around the bird activity.
Customer George from the Poseidon Angling Club fished out from Phillip Island over the weekend where he landed tuna to 15kg. George landed his fish on 5 inch Bluefin candies when run in conjunction with a 4 inch tinselflash daisy chain teaser.

Customer Phil fished out from Barwon heads recently. This fish was caught on an 8 inch purple skirt in 45m of water. Running a larger lure is a great way to entice a bite when the fish are a bit slow.
Customer Wayne also caught a few nice tuna off Barwon over the weekend. Wayne caught all his fish on 5 inch Billmark skirts in Winged evil patterns.
