Terrific tuna
The tuna fishing has been great offshore of both bays. The numbers of fish have yet again been excellent and the size has also been great – with plenty of fish in the 20kg mark, and some much larger getting sighted amongst the schools.

Customers John and Tony both fished out from Kilcunda over the weekend where they got into some solid tuna. The boys found that working Maria Pop Queens into schools of fish chopping was super effective.
Customers Stuart and Steve have been catching tuna on evil coloured skirts rigged on daisy chains and spreader bars lately. The guys have reported catching fish out from pyramid rock through to Inverloch doing multiple trips, with the 50m line deeming productive.

Customer Terry fished with a mate on the tuna for the first time last week after getting geared up in the shop. Terry and mate had a blast and landed some nice fish on the troll – with most of the lures getting fish, including both hardbodies and small skirts. Fishing out from Newhaven and behind Phillip Island was the hot area.

Customers Jin and Yudin fished out from Newhaven over the weekend and landed some solid tuna fishing poppers. Fishing slightly lighter gear has helped in gaining extra casting distance to the fish – and has helped when running smaller lures such as the 130mm Pop Queens.
