Many of the beaches in Eastern Gippsland are still producing large salmon for both bait and lure anglers. Pretty much all of the beaches will have fish cruising along them, but good reports are coming from Pearl Point at Bemm River.

This beach is popular with anglers due to the quality of salmon that are frequently caught during the day, along with the odd gummy shark taken at night as well.

Customers Mick and Will fished the beach here and also in the lake at Bemm River itself to land loads of salmon up to 50cm. Most of the fish were between 30 - 45cm and took a liking to halved bluebait and baby bottle squid, along with metal lures in the 30g size. Assist hooks fitted to the nose of the lure also helped to keep a few from jumping off.
